Who will read what I send?
Ben Murrell — a carpenter by trade and a builder for nearly 30 years, who started as an apprentice in the late 1990s. The person who reads it is the person who calls you.
What do I get for £59?
A written, plain-English review of whatever you send — a RICS survey, a builder’s quote, plans, a listing or photos: what matters, what can wait, likely cost ranges, and the questions to put to the seller, your surveyor, your builder or a specialist. Then a one-to-one call to talk it through. One property or one job, one fee, no upsell.
What sort of things do you look at?
RICS surveys are the most common — that is what most people book. We also read builders’ quotes line by line, look at houses people have just viewed before they offer, talk through work they are planning, and give an independent opinion on a job that has gone wrong.
When do I pay, and when do I send it over?

How quickly will I hear back?
Within 24 hours of receiving it, usually faster. If you’re up against an offer, an exchange or a deadline to sign, tell us when you book and we’ll prioritise it.
Do you visit the property?
No. We work from what you send — the survey or quote, plus any photos, video or listing. That keeps it fast, but it has limits: we can only comment on what those show. Where something needs a look in person — a structural engineer, an electrician’s test, a drain survey — we tell you so, and who to ask.
Is this a survey, a valuation or a quote?
None of those. It sits alongside your surveyor or your builder: we turn what is in front of you into priorities, likely cost ranges and sensible next steps. The decision stays yours — we make sure you take it with realistic numbers in front of you.
Is the advice really independent?
Yes. We never quote for the work we review and we take no referral fees from builders, so there’s nothing to upsell.
What if I’m not happy with the advice?
If the review doesn’t give you a clear answer, you get every penny back — no forms, no quibble.
